At a young age, she was in love with the monsoon which motivated her to pursue a career in Meteorology. While still attending the University of Arizona, Amber at the National Weather Service. Currently, Amber works on the advisory board for the Hydrology and Atmospheric Science Department.

Amber debuted her career at KVIA-TV based in El Paso, Texas serving as a weather broadcaster. Sullins won the Rocky Mountain Emmy for Best Weathercast in 2010, 2013, and 2014.
Amber attained the 2013 and 2016 Emmys for best On-Camera Weather Talent. She was invited to go to New York and fill in on Good Morning America during the summer of 2011.
