Andrew Jack, a well-known Star Wars actor has passed away at the age of 76 from the coronavirus. Jack who was also a dialect coach, died on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at a hospital just outside of London.
His representative, Jill McCullough confirmed Jack’s death noting the star died as a result of complications developed from the virus.
‘He died this morning of COVID-19 at St Peter’s Hospital, Chertsey,” Jill said.
“Andrew lived on one of the oldest working houseboats on the Thames, he was fiercely independent but madly in love with his wife; also a dialect coach; Gabrielle Rogers,” she added.

As supervising dialect coach for The Lord of the Rings, Jack created the Middle-earth accents and taught them, along with Elvish and Black Speech, to the cast of the trilogy. He designed and taught the accents for the Greeks and Trojans in Wolfgang Petersen’s Troy.
Jack taught Evan Davis to speak with a Nottinghamshire twang. He was known for helping non-British actors to be more intelligible to the audience.
