Custer was confirmed to have prostate cancer during the summer of 2013 after his routing screening at the time he was 42 years old. He was questioning the surgery he was to undergo but the doctor told him it was of importance failure to perform it he would die with a year or two.
Informing his family was the hardest thing he says, he underwent the surgery and was termed cancer-free. He ensures that every three months he’s checked. He wanted to encourage others to get checked and so he joined partnered with PCF for Prostate Cancer Awareness that was in September 2015 enable him to publicize his experience.
