Chris Holcomb Biography
Chris Holcomb is an American Meteorologist currently serving at 11Alive station (NBC affiliate) located in Atlanta Georgia as the chief meteorologist. He has been serving there for more than two and half decades. Chris is also an active member of the Board of Directors for the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation. He attends many events all over Atlanta including St. Jude’s Southern Evening of Hope and the Keep Georgia Beautiful Awards.
Chris often visits schools to talk to students about the weather. Furthermore, he reported live at the Race for research. He won an Associated Press Awards for the Best Weather Reporting and Gabby Awards for the Best Weather Coverage. In 2019, Chris was honored with the John Holliman Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award by Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia.

Chris is currently working at WXIA/WATL (11Alive) as the Chief Meteorologist since 1991. He got his first job at WMAZ AM/WAYS FM radio where he served as an afternoon news reporter. Nine months later, he joined the TV side where he worked for WMAZ-TV as a reporter and weather anchor. While there, Chris reported on every aspect of TV news reporting while shooting and editing his own stories. He worked as a fill-in anchor, as a fill-in weather anchor for the weekday morning and also evening newscasts, as a weekend weather anchor, and covered the Legislature.
After working at WMAZ for three and a half years, he joined WXIA-TV in his hometown. Chris became the Chief Meteorologist of the station in 2014. As of now, he appears on 11Alive Monday to Friday on the 5, 6, 7, 10, and also 11 pm newscasts on WATL and 11Alive. He received the Emmy Awards for Weather Anchor several times.
