Bash went to Pascack Hills High School in Montvale, New Jersey in the US, then joined George Washington University and earned a bachelor’s degree in political communications. While at college, she worked as an intern at NBC,  CNN, and CBS. From Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire, Bash received an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters that was on May 12, 2018.

She started working as a weekend program producer for Evans & Novak, Inside Politics, and Late Edition at CNN after her graduation from college. After working at for some months she began producing programs that cover the United States Senate. In Washington, D.C.  she began working as the lead political correspondent of CNN, More to that she appears as the lead news reporter for CNN.
