He also works as the host of Basketball Night in Chicago throughout the basketball season on NBC Sports Chicago. He previously worked at Chicago sports radio station WMVP-AM.

Later, he signed a new long-term contract to stay at WGN Radio after the removal of Metheny in December 2010 where he worked as the primary host of a new evening talk show called WGN Sports Night. David was named the host of Chicago Tribune Live on Comcast SportsNet in January 2008. In November 2009, David and the staff of “Chicago Tribune Live” received the prestigious Emmy Award due to their Best Interview Program for their work on CTL.

After a 21-year career at WGN Radio, he signed a multi-year deal with ESPN in 2015 and started to serve a daily sports radio show named Kap and Co., that aired on ESPN 1000 in Chicago from 9:00 AM CT till Noon as the host. David worked along with US Hockey Hall of Famer Eddie Olczyk who is also the color analyst of the NHL on NBC and the Chicago Blackhawks TV broadcasts as well as his horse racing analysis on NBC Sports Chicago broadcaster Pat Boyle and NBC Sports.
