Erika debuted her journalism career working in her hometown in Texas as an anchor and reporter. While in Texas, she worked at a CW-affiliated XRIO-TV based in Rio Grande Valley. She later moved to Austin and joined a dual CBS/Telemundo-affiliated KEYE-TV.
She anchored newscasts for Telemundo Austin due to her Spanish proficiency. In 2011, Erika moved to Washington and began to do stories at NBC4. As of now, Erika anchors the weekend editions of News4 at 6 and News4 at 11 and serves as the evening anchor on the Live Desk. Moreover, she fills in on Telemundo 44 anchors’ desk, which is NBC4’s sister station.
