Moreover, Gary also serves as the radio college football analyst for Paul Finebaum where he makes an appearance weekly during the college football season.
He has also worked as a part-time anchor/reporter during the off-season at WDIV-TV during his career in broadcasting. Prior to venturing fully into the broadcast career, Gary played as an NFL quarterback for Detroit Lions between 1976 to 1984. In addition, he also played for Cleveland Browns in 1985, 1987, and 1988.
