Jack Edwards is a famous American sportscaster. He nowadays works as a television play-by-play commentator for the Boston Bruins on NESN. Earlier, Jack served for ESPN  as an anchor for their sports news program called SportsCenter. He labored for the network from 1991 -2003.

He as well worked as the station’s play-by-play announcer for their 2002 FIFA World Cup broadcasts, Little League Baseball, MLS, and NHL. Furthermore, he provided commentary for the Konami game MLS Extra Time 2002. He launched his journalism career by working as a play-by-play broadcaster for the University of New Hampshire hockey team.

From there, he moved on to play-by-play and sports anchor positions at WGIR radio and also WMUR-TV located in Manchester, New Hampshire. In the early 1980s,  Jack worked as a talk radio host for WRKO located in Boston. He was also a weekend anchor at WJAR-TV located in Providence. From there, he proceeded to become a sports reporter at WCVB-TV located in Boston.

For his play-by-play work with the Bruins, he accepted a 2011 Stanley Cup Championship ring.

While serving at WCVB-TV, he at the same time worked as a freelance play-by-play announcer for ESPN. While still there, he called the Davis Cup finals and Frozen Four. Likewise, at the 1988 Winter Olympics, he worked as a reporter for ABC’s coverage of alpine skiing5. In 1988, he started working as a weekend sports anchor for Boston’s WNEV-TV/WHDH-TV. He together served for the then-CBS affiliate and called some events for the network, such as the US Open and the 1991 Olympic Winterfest.

He became ESPN’s  SportsCenter anchor and reporter in 1991. He also announced Little League baseball from 1995 -2002, soccer, including coverage of the 2002 FIFA World Cup, ESPN National Hockey Night from 1999 -2003, and the X Games in 1996. He became part of a newly launched specialty cable sports channel, College Sports Television In 2003.
