Jeff Wagner is a well-known American television personality currently working as a Reporter/Anchor who anchors WCCO’s Saturday evening newscasts. Wagner joined the station in November 2016 as a general assignment reporter.
Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, Wagner spent most of his childhood in Naperville, Illinois. He went to Illinois State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism in 2009. Following his graduation, Wagner got his first job as a reporter at WCIA-TV in Champaign, Illinois. He began as a bureau reporter in Decatur then worked his way up to the weekend anchor.
After spending four years in Central Illinois, in 2013 he crossed the border into Indiana and joined WISH-TV in Indianapolis. During his time there, he won Emmy awards for his part in breaking news coverage of tornado damage, and also his work as a video journalist. His favorite assignments always centered around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, specifically the Indy 500.
Wagner is a huge sports fan and is excited to attend games at venues across the Twin Cities. Just know Wagner might be cheering for the visiting Chicago teams. If he is not there, Wagner probably at a live music venue.
