Larry Beil is an American journalist and sportscaster who currently co-anchors KGO-TV ( ABC7 affiliate) News on weekdays at 4 p.m. Furthermore, Larry covers sports for ABC7 News on weekdays at 6 p.m. as well as 11 p.m. He has been serving KGO-TV ( ABC affiliate) since joining in Jan 2001.

Besides, Larry is a sports columnist for Yahoo. Beil now hosts a Yahoo! webcast named SportStream with the former Seattle Seahawk Joe Nash.

Before joining KGO-TV, Larry worked as a host of a SportsCenter. He served with Robin Roberts, Keith Olbermann, and Dan Patrick at ESPN. Beil and his team served the channel from 1995 until 2001. You can find Larry working out or naturally, watching sports during his free time.

At a relatively young age, it became clear that his dreams of recreating point guard in the NBA or tailback in the NFL were a long shot. So, Larry chose the next best thing would be talking about sports. He began his journalism career at the University of Hawaii.

While still there, he served on the student newspaper and also on the campus radio station. Through his years in the islands, he covered everything from erupting volcanoes to sumo wrestling, he as well covered the play-by-play of his beloved UH Warriors.

Afterward, he transferred to Northern California. Larry was in time to experience the 1989 earthquake. Heally drove via the Caldecott Tunnel when the quake appeared. After 5 1/2 years of serving at KTVU, she quit the channel and joined ESPN.

He served for 6 years while hosting SportsCenter with Robin Roberts, Keith Olbermann, and Dan Patrick. Larry returned to the Bay Area to work for ABC7 News In 2001.

From 1996 to 1998, Larry worked as an anchor on SportsCenter, the flagship program of ESPN. Larry raised a new catchphrase following showing a home run: “Aloha means goodbye.” Furthermore, he made an appearance in a This is SportsCenter ad. Larry’s introduction was made by ring announcer Michael Buffer.

Michael made the introduction as if he was regarding compete in a boxing match. Following leaving ESPN, Larry started serving as the sports director at KGO-TV in San Francisco.
