In 2011 she assumed a morning anchor position at WAFB located in Baton Rouge, La. Lauren began hosting the station’s early afternoon show not long after she joined the channel. Her team won an Emmy assignments award from the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters and the Associated Press.
While serving for WAFB, she covered police shootings in 2016 that won WAFB an Edward R. Murrow Award. A month thereafter, she covered extraordinary flooding that occurred in Baton Rouge.
The flooding caused death and destroyed a large number of homes and organizations. During that period, Lauren remained at the anchor desk for quite a long time as the floodwaters subsided over several days.
