Before calling games for the White Sox, he was serving as a play-by-play announcer for the Chicago cubs between 2005 to 2020. While serving for the Chicago Cubs, Len served together with analysts Jim Deshaies and Bob Brenly on the Chicago Cubs Telecasts.

During his term with the Cubs, he was granted the Harry Cara 2011 Sportscaster of the Year Award from the Hit Club and Pitch of Chicago.
