She reported regarding the kidnapping of two Antelope Valley teens which started the state’s first Amber Alert.

Juarez thereafter labored for KMIR-TV in Palm Springs as a producer and general assignment reporter in 2003. While still there, she covered the California wildfires in which her family’s home had to be removed. She then served as a general assignment reporter for KERO-TV in Bakersfield in 2005.

Juarez thereafter moved to Houston, Texas from California in 2007 where she worked as a morning reporter at KHOU-TV. She covered Hurricane Ike in Sept 2008, as it struck Bayou City. In the aftereffects of Ike, she filed stories about the missing and the recovery efforts.
