Meadows attended Valparaiso University and graduated with a B.S. in Meteorology-Math Minor with & B.A. Communications with a minor in Mathematics. While at the institution, she was a member of the Valparaiso University Storm Chase Team. Meadows completed a storm chasing class which included traveling 5,626 miles across the Great Plains over 10 days chasing storms.
While in Valparaiso, Meadows was the chief meteorologist for her college TV station VUTV, president of the Northwest Indiana American Meteorological Society / National Weather Association, and an active person of the Valparaiso University Storm Intercept Team (VUSIT).
Lisa started her career in meteorology in the year 2013 by working for Lakeshore News and WYIN TV. She also did some internships with Amy Freese-Fox Chicago, and Tom Skilling-WGN before starting his professional career in meteorology.
Meadows is the president of the American Meteorological Society and National Meteorological Association based in Indiana. Meadows later joined WCCO-TV in the year 2018 as a meteorologist in the Twin Cities where her introduction to the WCCO crew was described as a major weather shock.

When Meadows is not working, Lisa volunteers as a K9 Search& Rescue handler with the Northstar Search & Rescue Team. Meadows and her K9 “Thunder” team are Wilderness II Tracking/Trailing Certified. They work with Northstar SAR to help locate missing persons across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. She is also a Certified National Search And Rescue Technician II.
