While there, she also reported on numerous crime stories, including when a gunman killed six people at an apartment complex before he was killed by police. Maggie was also the first reporter in any news market worldwide to get a video that appeared to show pop star Justin Bieber’s drag race down a Miami Beach street.
Before serving in Miami, she also served for three years at KSTP in Minneapolis where she covered the reopening of the 35-W bridge after it collapsed, reported from the floor of the 2008 Republican National Convention, and spent plenty of time in subzero temperatures for blizzard coverage.
In addition, she also served for WBBH in Fort Myers, Florida, from 2004 – to 2008, including the historic 2005 hurricane season. While serving in Fort Myers, the Associated Press honored Maggie for her year-long investigation that ended with the arrest and conviction of a Cape Coral councilman and his subsequent removal from office.
