He is a three-time Emmy Award-winning baseball analyst who operates as a professor of Sports Administration at Pepperdine University. Again,  he worked as the scout for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League. Prior to that, he worked as the general manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2006 until 2014.

In his first season in 2006, Los Angeles moved to the NL Division Series.
