He hosts the Rush Creek Golf Club Randy Shaver Celebrity Golf Classic.  Benefiting the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund. since 1995, Shaver has helped raise over $6.5 million for cancer research and patient aid in Minnesota. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease in June 1998, he is a cancer survivor.
