Rob Nelson is an American journalist currently working for WGN America’s new primetime newscast as Weeknight Breaking News Anchor. Previously, he was a weekday reporter at WABC-TV and weekend morning anchor where he left in February 2020. Before, he was a news reporter and anchor for Channel 7 Eyewitness News of WABC-TV. Nelson debuted his career as a morning news reporter and anchor for WWL-TV in New Orleans.

Before, he worked at ABC where he joined officially on July, 12th 2010. Rob was the co-anchor of programs including World News Now and America This Morning. Nelson left the ABC on 15th March of 2013.

Rob Nelson kicked off his career at New Orleans newspaper The Times-Picayune where he served for seven years. Later, he joined WWL-TV in that city as a morning anchor in June 2007.
