From 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., Tony co-anchors Good Day LA with Araksya Karapetyan. In 1993, he joined KTTV FOX 11. Before joining KTTV, McEwing spent 12 years at KXTV, Sacramento’s CBS affiliate, where he worked as a news anchor on the morning and noon newscasts.
From 1980 to 1981, he was the Washington, D.C. correspondent for WDSU, the NBC affiliate in New Orleans, Louisiana. He hosted three hours of nonstop live coverage of the North Hollywood Bank Shootout and also reported from Chicago during the Democratic National Convention in 1996.
McEwing also took part in the 1994 Rose Parade coverage, interviewing parade participants during a live pre-parade special. He hosted KTTV’s Crown Books teacher salute, which featured outstanding educators from Southland.
