A producer at a boxing gym discovered Lepley and urged him to audition. He landed a main role in the independent horror film Slumber Party Slaughter as a result of that meeting. Lepley reluctantly followed his agent’s recommendation to take acting seriously and enrolled in classes, and he made his acting debut in an episode of The CW’s 90210.
After a lengthy casting procedure, he was cast as Benny in Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots in 2013. As a youth, Lepley participated in a variety of sports, including track, football, basketball, karate, and boxing, but as he grew older, he focused more on football. Tyler Dennis was his high school football nickname. He had an injury in June 2003 that nearly terminated his football career, and he later underwent surgery. By the summer of 2004, Lepley had returned to the field and had been named MVP at a sports event.
On a football scholarship, he attended Kutztown University.
