Before that, from 2004 to 2012, Windsor taught as an adjunct journalism professor at  Temple University, her alma mater. Prior to joining NPR, she worked as a freelance reporter in Kenya.

She worked as a Morning News Anchor as well as a News Director at WRTI from 1995 to 2011. Windsor served as a reporter and also as a Weekend Edition host at WHYY from 1999 and 2004. Later on, she worked as the News Anchor at Metro Network from 2004 to 2008.
