Bagans wrote Ghost-Hunting For Dummies in December 2019. The book “describes the origins of ghost hunting, with true accounts and tales from Bagans’ most successful events and inquiries, and discusses how someone should begin researching the supernatural.”

Paranormal investigator Kenneth Biddle, writing for Skeptical Inquirer magazine, notes that Bagans has a deep prejudice towards skeptics and scientists in the book. Zak Bagans Career

Bagans teamed up with Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin to create Ghost Adventures, a documentary-style film, in 2004. In 2007, the film screened on the SciFi Channel. A follow-up series debuted on the Travel Channel in 2008 and has run for 19 seasons as of 2019.

Fakery has been accused of ghost-hunting shows in general, and Ghost Adventures in particular. Bagans directed a spin-off series called Ghost Adventures: Aftershocks from 2014 to 2016, which focused on how people’s lives changed after previous Ghost Adventures investigations.

The Travel Channel’s Deadly Possessions debuted on April 2, 2016, and featured Bagans searching for objects for a potential “haunted museum” in Las Vegas, Nevada. The museum first opened its doors to the general public in October of 2017.

It has 33 rooms with a variety of items on view. The rooms are guided tours for visitors. Some of the items on display include Bela Lugosi’s mirror, the Dybbuk box, Peggy the Doll, and Jack Kevorkian’s “Death Van”.

Any of the allegations made in connection with the objects have been questioned. Both the Lugosi and Captain Smith mirrors in the museum have been accused of having shady origins.
